I have been on the hunt for months for the perfect bomber jacket and haven’t been able to find one that I absolutely love. They’ve always been too bulky or too shiny or covered in ornate stitching (side note: I still really don’t see where Gucci is going with this style). I wanted a bomber that I could throw over any casual look and have it look effortless and stylish without having too much structure. Some people can totally rock the quilted bombers that are more on the bulky side but I find that they overwhelm my petite frame. So when I found this particular one that was longline and sleek, I knew I hit the jackpot. I made multiple laps around Forever 21 on Black Friday (I feel like I deserve a trophy for that) and that was it – I found the perfect bomber that I know I will be wearing all season long.
Whoever made the fashion rule that you can’t wear navy and black together was seriously mistaken. It is one of my favorite color combinations! When I wear these two colors together, I usually try to stick with a navy that has a bit of substance to it. In other words, as long as the navy is obviously navy and not black, you’re in the clear. I love the overall richness that it adds to the look without being a true pop of color. If you’ve never worn navy and black together, go for it! That rule is seriously outdated!
For the styling of this look, I wanted to keep it really relaxed and edgy. I opted for a slightly worn, ripped pair of jeans from TopShop – my ultimate favorite. These are in the Leigh style from the brand and they’re a must in your wardrobe. In comparison to the Jamie jeans, which I spoke about here, they are an ultra-soft jegging that are the perfect mid-rise. They’re so perfect for wearing with boots or OTK boots because they’re super easy to tuck in! Also, the super thin denim makes them way more comfortable than normal jeans. If you haven’t already, give these a try!
