Statement sleeves have been the biggest trend of the year – they are literally everywhere. Every top seems to sneak in a sleeve detail one way or another! Whether it’s ruffles or bell sleeves, I am all over this trend because it’s super easy to wear but it adds a ton of style to your look. Something to keep in mind when styling statement sleeves is scale. For example, if the top has a ton of volume and drama, it’s a good idea to make the rest of the pieces muted and sleek. Since these sleeves are ruffled and tiered I opted for a pair of high-waisted skinny jeans (my new favorite pair c/o Mott and Bow), basic neutral loafers, and minimal jewelry.
We need to have a serious chat about these loafers for a moment. I picked them up at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (which is now open for public access until August 7!) and they’ve been all kinds of fabulous. First of all, they are the absolute perfect neutral! They practically blend in with my feet which is amazing because they elongate my legs even though they are flats! Second of all, they are so comfortable! I know, I know, they are flat shoes so they’re supposed to be comfortable but trust me, these provide support and cushion that allow me to walk miles in them. Oh, and did I mention they are less than $60!? If you haven’t snagged these babies yet, you need to! They’re going to be the shoe of the season so you might as well pick them up while they’re still on sale.
