I am all for high-end items when I think it’s a classic piece that I will be able to keep for years to come but sometimes it’s just not necessary to spend the extra money. Growing up, my mom always thought it was important to invest in good quality leather shoes for us so that they didn’t hurt our little feet and lasted all throughout the year. I have continued to apply this principle to things like genuine leather handbags and shoes that I know I will be able to wear daily. But when it comes to items that I know I am just going to use to spice up an outfit and won’t wear more than a handful of times, I tend to save rather than splurge.
Trendy accessories go in and out of style before you have a chance to pay your Nordstrom bill and then you’re stuck with a pair of $300 designer sunglasses that scream “2007!” – we’ve all been there. Accessories are one of the easiest ways to update your wardrobe without spending a ton of money on something you’ll likely forget about by next season. I’ve learned to invest in the classics and save where I can when it comes to anything else. Here are some of my favorite designer-inspired items that will keep you in trend and on budget!
Splurge:
Valentino Sandals | Chloe Bag | Dior Sunglasses | Stewart Weitzman Boots
Save:
Rebecca Minkoff Sandals | Louise et Cie Bag | Target Sunglasses | Steve Madden Boots
