Whenever I buy something that is very simple, my mind immediately starts racing about different shoe options, hairstyles, and accessories that could be paired with it. Often times, statement accessories add just what the outfit needs but occasionally, it’s the simplicity of the look that will really make it pop. This navy dress was one of those pieces that I was immediately tempted to style 1,000 different ways but when it really came down to it, I wanted the lines of the dress to make the statement on their own. I decided to keep the accessories as simple as possible – a nearly-invisible gold choker, nude heels to elongate my legs, and a slick pony did the trick!
This navy dress is so classic – the length looks good on everyone, the fabric is flattering, and the deep color is timeless. A midi-length dress is so versatile because you can definitely get away with wearing it to a formal event (I plan on wearing this to a wedding in October) or to a more casual Sunday brunch, depending on how you style it. As a general rule of thumb, I like to wear high heels with any skirt or dress that falls below my knee to keep my legs looking long and lean. To make it more casual, I would probably change the shoe to a heeled lace-up sandal and make my hair tousled and messy.
