These over the knee boots are one of my absolute favorite things in my entire wardrobe. First of all, they are surprisingly comfortable – seriously. Second of all, they have proven to be one of most versatile pairs of shoes I own. They look amazing with pants, mini-skirts, and my personal favorite – with a dress. I recently featured these beauties as part of my Splurge vs. Save post because they’re nearly identical to a designer pair that are $600 more expensive! I bought these boots last October and have jokingly referred to them as my “October boots” ever since. They were supposed to be a Christmas gift but I just couldn’t bear the thought of going one more day without having these in my closet. I justified getting them early by deeming October 1st a boot-receiving holiday and it worked out just swimmingly for me. I haven’t been able to stop wearing them ever since. Go ahead, steal my strategy. Works every time!
Over the knee boots are one of the chicest things you can possibly wear. They allow you to show a bit of skin when you wear them with a skirt or dress to add a sultry touch to the most basic outfits. With pants or leggings, over the knee boots add extra detail and dimension to the look. In addition to the fact that they’re a wearable style, they also serve as a statement piece that will make any outfit stand out. When styling over the knee boots, avoid wearing them with loose-fitting pants or long skirts and dresses. To maximize the chic factor, make sure the pants you choose are skin tight to allow the boots to stand out and make your legs look slim in comparison. Following the same principle, make sure any short garment you pair with them shows at least 1 inch of skin between the boot and the fabric. Avoid anything more than 4-5 inches to make sure you look like a pretty woman, not Pretty Woman.
Do you wear over the knee boots? If you’ve never owned a pair before, this Fall is the perfect time to give them a try!
