Being really focused on blogging lately has made me even more obsessed with office decor than usual. I have been completely craving a luxurious ultra-girly space that will keep me inspired and give me a space I can have totally dedicated to growing my blog. I have been doing some online browsing and found office inspiration that I am drooling over. Nothing screams #girlboss like faux blush sheepskin and a Lucite chair.
I wanted the focal point of the office to be really classic while still giving off a mod vibe. I started my vision with the desk and it all grew quickly from there! I drew inspiration from the strong lines of the desk to set the tone for the modern feel but added feminine touches to keep the room soft. The blush undertone of the Lucite puts a spin on the traditionally clear ghost chair while the lush texture of the faux sheepskin contrasts the harsh lines of the bookshelf and angular desk. All of the accessories I found for this office are from Target, whose current Sugar Paper collection is giving me LIFE. It takes every bone in my body not to purchase every single item for my currently non-existent office. The whole collection is girly, fresh, and totally practical. Dual purpose items are really important in office decor because let’s face it, the point is really to get work done in there. You can have the cutest office in the world but it still needs to serve a purpose and create a space you can stay organized in. Having your office supplies (stapler, file folders, stationary boxes, etc.) be part of your decor while still serving a practical need makes the overall space fashionable and functional!
Adding touches of gold throughout the entire office gives it just enough sparkle so that it doesn’t fall flat! Without the gold accessories, the room would lack visual interest and shine. In my opinion, every room needs a touch of shine, whether it be through an opulent crystal chandelier or a simple brushed nickel lamp base. It doesn’t have to be something fancy or extremely metallic but adding accessories or furniture pieces with a touch of sheen will add a depth of texture that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to achieve. The best way to add a touch of sparkle is through lighting, accessories, or hardware throughout the design. For example, a flat white dresser with flat white knobs will blend into the room and the only statement it will make is “blah” but changing out the knobs for a metallic option will transform the entire look.
Take a look at your rooms that you think are missing that little something and ask yourself, does it need sparkle?
