Little White Dress

Everyone is always talking about the perfect little black dress and how every woman needs one in her closet. I totally agree with this – it’s a classic – but people tend to forget about it’s springtime twin, the little white dress! I actually happen to prefer an LWD just because I have so much fun experimenting with all of the different accessories and makeup looks that pair so well with white. I mean, do you ever wonder why some of the chicest events in the world have an all-white dress code? Wimbeldon, anyone?! There is just nothing better than sun-kissed skin against a crisp white fabric – so perfect for spring and summer! If you don’t already own a little white dress, you need to get one and follow these tips to style it.

When I am wearing a solid color, especially one as basic as white, I put all the focus on the accessories. This is the perfect way to spice up an otherwise basic dress! I also love accessorizing because it allows you to wear the same dress a million different ways. Doing something as simple as changing the shoes or adding a fun pair of earrings can take the look from day to night effortlessly. For this look, I stuck to one of my favorite color palettes: pink and white. I don’t know if it was my gingham wallpaper in my bedroom when I was a little girl but whatever it was that started this obsession, I love it. The two colors just pair so well together – as if they were made for each other. To give a mod vibe – I opted for round sunnies and one of my favorite pink lipsticks – MAC Saint Germain. To tone the shade down just a bit, I layered it on top of my every day lip color, Kat Von D Lovesick.

Can we just talk about these shoes for a minute?! I really think they’re my favorite thing in my entire closet – no lie. I got them in New York almost three years ago when I went on a graduation trip with Andrew. I spotted them from across the store and made a beeline for them instantly. The color is perfection, the feathery detail is EVERYTHING, and the block heel makes them so comfortable. Also, every time I wear them, I think about Andrew carrying them all the way across the Brooklyn bridge because the bag broke halfway through and it makes me think about how sweet he is. They don’t have this specific pair anymore BUT I am so happy because I found an almost identical pair for you! Now everyone can have their own pink fuzzies (insert happy dance here).Shop this post:
