For me, Fall fashion is all about the accessories. I would say it’s my favorite fashion season of all – I mean, September issue of Vogue, anyone? It’s a transitional season so you may not have your entire Fall wardrobe totally ready just yet but you can still be seasonable. For that reason, I usually keep my outfit simple and spice it up with my accessories. Here is my Fall accessories wish list that I am currently dying over and using as inspo for the upcoming season.
I am drooling over boots and booties even more than usual this season. Boots in Fall are my favorite because they get you in the mood for the seasonal activities but they don’t need to be quite as functional as your Winter boots need to be, especially if you live in a very cold climate. For example, you probably couldn’t get away with those lace-up over the knee suede boots on a snowy day but in the crisp Fall air? Yes please.
Hats. Ugh, hats. This is my most recent accessory obsession! Last Fall, I am pretty sure my boyfriend forgot what the top of my head looked like because I literally didn’t go without a hat for one single day. That was partly because we had just moved to San Diego from Florida and it was the first chance I got to wear a wool fedora without dying of heat (seriously, it’s that hot in FL). Not that San Diego gets particularly frosty either, but it gives PLENTY of opportunities for hats. The other reason I become obsessed with hats is because I realized how effortless they looked with any outfit. We all know that one girl that always looks laid back and effortless but totally gorgeous at the same time (I am jealous if you’re one of those). Adding a hat to your otherwise unimpressive outfit will make you look instantly chic without trying too hard. I personally look for hats with a fedora-like crown (i.e., the signature dimple in the top) because I think they look the most casual but still add that extra touch of style. This is just a personal preference and probably something I tell myself because I don’t look as good in flat-top hats.
