I have been walking the line between casual and dressy lately and haven’t been able to decide which side I am on. I love switching up my looks and not subscribing to one specific style and this outfit is the perfect solution. I have been loving really slouchy clothes lately, whether it be a chunky off-the-shoulder knit or a loose dress. Sometimes though, when you’re trying to have a look be effortless or relaxed, it often translates to messy. I have found that whenever I am wearing a piece that has a really relaxed fit, I try to pair it with something that has a bit more structure in order to give some shape back to my body.
This laid-back blush piece is extremely oversized (in hindsight, I wish I had ordered one size down) so in order to avoid looking like a shapeless blob, I paired it with these form-fitting over the knee boots. Completing the look with the tailored OTK boots and showing a bit of skin adds some sex appeal and avoids giving you a soccer mom look. I would never wear this dress with flat shoes or anything loose on the bottom. If your legs are 2 miles long, you may be able to get away with it but otherwise, I would avoid that all together.
This silhouette is super popular at the moment, especially with celebrities like the Kardashian-Jenner family. It is the perfect mixture between laid-back and put together. You look instantly stylish but super comfortable – yes, even in the OTK boots. I decided to wear my hair straight for this look because I didn’t want anything to look too “done.” I parted my hair to the side and gave it an extra shake to make it look undone. This went along with the vibe I was going for and was super easy to maintain throughout the night! It was nice not having to worry about messing up my hair while I was out and about.
What do you think of this oversized trend? Have you tried it?
