A few weeks ago when I was visiting my family in Florida, I unexpectedly came across these olive booties that I just couldn’t leave behind! The perfect dark shade combined with the lace-up and cut-out detailing made my heart skip a beat and I immediately came up with 500 reasons why I needed them. Then I found out that they cost less than $50 and I really died. Fast forward to 3 minutes later and I had tried them on, fallen in love all over again, and purchased them. No regrets! Since then, I cannot stop wearing them and they have become my favorite Fall shoe. They’re incredibly comfortable, partly due to the stretchy laces that keep your foot and ankle in place but aren’t restricting. That combined with the chunky heel and the soft suede-like material and they’re pretty much fool-proof for walking around town.
Now that Fall has officially begun (although someone needs to give San Diego the memo because it has yet to cool off) it is time for my love affair with hats to really blossom. This particular one is from Forever 21 last year but you can find hats like this anywhere. I really wanted the focus of this look to be on the shoes so I kept the rest of the look monochromatic and let the olive booties steal the show.
This bag is going to be such a staple in my Fall wardrobe – I can already tell. I scored mine at the Nordstrom Sale and I’ve been waiting to wearing it ever since. They still have it in stock in this shade and other Fall-appropriate hues. The designer, Louise et Cie, is relatively new to the scene but is no stranger to the accessories game as she’s married to one of the major players – Vince Camuto. She recently debuted her extensive collection of accessories including shoes and handbags and I have to say – the pieces are stunning! I love the delicate details that are featured throughout the collection, such as the dainty gold octagon clasp. (Side note: to open the bag, you pull on the chain with the octagon to release the closure. I fidgeted with the bag for a good 30 minutes before I was able to open the Fort Knox of handbags.) The size of the bag is perfect because it’s small enough that you won’t be able to load it up with every item you own but it’s not so tiny that you can only fit one lipstick and one toothpick inside. Small bags are great but is it too much to ask to have room for my phone and wallet, too?
