Usually I kind of dread the warm weather, to be honest with you. I know I am definitely in the minority with that but it’s the truth! This year is different, though – the spring trends are making me SO excited for the upcoming season. I will feel a lot better about sweating my buns off when I am wearing a cute outfit. I’ve been building my spring wardrobe up over the last few weeks and now that I have a good grasp on what’s up and coming, I am ready to share all of the spring trends with you!
Turn Up the Volume
The biggest trend of the season is volume, volume, volume! Whether it’s a bell sleeve or a ruffle hem, everything this season is making a statement. I really love this style because it’s really easy to wear and incorporate into your current wardrobe. Pairing a structured bell-sleeve with a simple pair of jeans and sandals makes you instantly on-trend and in style. These details are also flattering on so many different body types – the voluminous sleeves make your torso look slim and the ruffle hems will hide any problem areas. Remember to pair this trend with something sleek – a slim pair of jeans or trousers will provide a nice contrast. Wearing a very voluminous top with something flowy or baggy will make you look much larger than you are and no one wants that!

Borrow your Boyfriend’s
The style of the 90’s has carried itself into spring a bit with distressed, boyfriend fit denim. When you’re not wearing your ruffled tops, opt for a relaxed, loose-fitting pair of jeans or cutoffs. I love the effortlessness that this style brings to a look! It makes you look very chic yet thrown together. To keep your legs looking elongated, pair your boyfriend jeans with a pair of heels or wedges. This elevates the look from purely messy to perfectly disheveled. If you don’t love the loose fit on your body type, make sure to at least incorporate some distressing or rips into your denim this season! This will keep you current but true to yourself.

Bare Bones
Collar bones, that is. Off the shoulder tops and dresses are everything for spring. Everyone needs at least a few OTS pieces in their wardrobe. It’s a really sexy silhouette without showing too much skin – anyone at any age can get away with baring their shoulders! I love to pair my OTS tops with my hair up and a dainty choker to get the full effect.
